Have you been unhappy with your nose for as long as you can remember? Wish your nose were longer, thinner, shorter, or straighter?
The Cosmetics Program helps men and women who don’t like their nose structure, size or shape. Whether it was an injury or simply genetics that graced you with your nose, we have the state-of-the-art safe techniques that can give you the beautiful new nose you have always wanted.
Your doctor will recommend either the closed or open rhinoplasty technique: in closed surgery, the incision is made on the inside of the nasal passages and is generally used with limited alterations. In open rhinoplasty, an incision is made across the columella, or area between the nostrils, in addition to the internal incision. Open surgery is generally used in cases of dramatic alterations.
Your cosmetic surgeon will carefully manipulate the cartilage and bone tissue to create the pleasing size and shape you discussed.
While many patients can achieve the nose they desire with just one rhinoplasty surgery, others will need to have it done in stages, allowing certain manipulated areas to heal properly before altering others. Your doctor will let you know if the changes you want can happen in one procedure, or if you will need to plan for a primary revision and/or secondary revision.
Your Geisinger physician will go over all the details of your rhinoplasty procedure to make sure you are ready for your surgery day.
