Meet the Team

John Frodel, M.D.

Dr. John Frodel, Director of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery, is board-certified in otolaryngology and by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  Dr. Frodel specializes in rhinoplasty, aging facial rejuvenation surgery, face lift, eyelid lift, forehead lift, chin and cheek implants and profileplasty.

Dr. Frodel received his medical degree from the University of Washington School Of Medicine, where he also completed his residency training in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Dr. Frodel completed his general surgery internship at Harvard Surgical Service, and completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco.

In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Frodel is also an active participant in the medical community, including as Vice President for Education of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Senior Examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology, and visiting professor and lecturer throughout Europe, Asia, South American and the US. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Alexander P. Moya, M.D.

Dr. Alexander P. Moya, board-certified plastic surgeon, is the Director of Geisinger's Center for Weight Loss Body Contouring, as well as the Assistant Director of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Moya received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami. Dr. Moya also completed a fellowship in plastic surgery from the University of Utah to further his training.

With special interests in body contouring after weight loss, Dr. Moya has developed an innovative surgical technique for trunk contouring, known as corset trunkplasty. This procedure uses advanced technology to provide improved surgical outcomes. Dr. Moya travels nationally to present the details of this procedure to other plastic surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Moya instructs other plastic surgeons on Advancements in Body Contouring with the use of Harmonic (R) Technology. Dr. Moya's other areas of interest include breast surgery, eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation.

In addition to his practice experience, Dr. Moya is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and participates in the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Maintenance of Certification Program (Plastic Surgery).

Thomas Joseph Bitterly, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Joseph Bitterly is a board-certified plastic surgeon, currently serving as the Director of the Department of Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center, as well as the Director of the Plastic Surgery Service Line at Geisinger Health System.

Dr. Bitterly received his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine, and completed his internship at North Shore University Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and his general surgery residency at Harvard Surgical Service/New England Deaconess Hospital.  Dr. Bitterly also completed plastic surgery residency training at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital/Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute.

In addition to his practice experience, Dr. Bitterly is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.  While he is extensively trained in all areas of plastic surgery, his special interests include breast surgery, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, pediatric plastic surgery and cleft palate repair.

Anthony D. Bruno II, M.D.

Dr. Anthony D. Bruno is board-certified in general surgery and plastic surgery and is practicing at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley location.

Dr. Bruno received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. He did his general surgery internship at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center and then completed his general surgery residency at Creighton University Medical Center. Dr. Bruno then completed his residency in plastic, reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center.

As an active participant in the medical community, Dr. Bruno is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is trained in all aspects of facial and body cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial trauma and cancer reconstruction, but takes special interest in facial cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty, body contouring and post-bariatric plastic surgery.

Christine Cabell, M.D.

Dr. Christine Cabell is a board-certified dermatologist currently practicing cosmetic dermatology and Mohs surgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Her services include injectable fillers, laser treatments, chemical peels, cancer treatment, and surgery.

Dr. Cabell received her medical degree and completed her internship and dermatology residency training at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She then completed a fellowship studying Mohs Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

In addition to her services at Geisinger, Dr. Cabell is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology. Trained in all aspects of dermatology, Dr. Cabell specializes in cosmetic dermatology and the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous and cancerous skin lesions with Mohs micrographic surgery.

Theresa Conologue, D.O., FAAD

Dr. Theresa Conologue is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in cosmetic dermatology at Geisinger Woodbine Lane and Geisinger Lewisburg. Her areas of expertise include Botox®, injectable fillers, facial rejuvenation, laser surgery for treatment of pigmentation, tattoos, hair, and vascular lesions, chemical peels, treatment of birthmarks and scars, facial telangietasia and spider veins, and sclerotherapy to treat leg veins.

Dr. Conologue received her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her dermatology residency training at the National Capital Consortium at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she received the White House Medical Unit, Certificate of Appreciation, the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement medal.

In addition to her practice responsibilities, Dr. Conologue is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She was previously awarded the Dermatologic Surgery Mentorship Award in Laser Surgery from the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the Women's Dermatologic Mentorship Award. She has served on the Research and Development Committee for American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, is a reviewer for multiple peer reviewed medical journals, and currently serves on the editorial board for the peer-reviewed journal, Cutis.

Joseph G. DeSantis, M.D., FACS

Dr. Joseph G. DeSantis, board-certified plastic surgeon, is the Associate Director of Plastic Surgical Services at Geisinger Medical Center, Section Head of Pediatric Plastic Surgery, and the Director of Cleft Lip and Palate Services at Geisinger Medical Center. Dr. DeSantis practices in all areas of plastic surgery, but has special interests in breast surgery, abdominoplasty, and pediatric plastic surgery.

Dr. DeSantis received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, and completed his residency training at George Washington University Hospital. Dr. DeSantis also completed a fellowship at the Children's Nautical Medical Center.

As an experienced and fully trained plastic surgeon, Dr. DeSantis is also involved with several professional organizations, including as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
