How do I choose the perfect “new nose” for my face?

Although we can’t guarantee your results will look just like another’s image, we can design your procedure based specifically on your nose appearance goals. You’ll have a chance to look at many Before & After nose surgery photos, and you may want to bring in some samples of nose shapes and sizes you think are pleasing to the eye. Your cosmetic surgeon will examine your facial structure and recommend the changes that will give you the best result.

Let your doctor know exactly what characteristics of your nose you aren’t fond of, and together you can decide on the “perfect nose” for you. Our Geisinger physicians have helped so many Danville residents finally find satisfaction with this facial feature.

Can nose surgery be performed in conjunction with other facial cosmetic surgery procedures?

Many of the Cosmetics Program patients choose to combine procedures for a more dramatic appearance change and for the convenience of one procedure. You can save on medical costs, missed work and healing time by combining procedures. During your initial consultation, your plastic surgeon will go over all your cosmetic options and recommend procedures that can help you accomplish your cosmetic goals.

Rhinoplasty nose surgery can be paired with a facelift, chin or cheek implant, scar revision, blepharoplasty, or brow lift for beautiful results.

Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty nose surgery?

Most healthy Pennsylvania residents will be eligible for nose surgery, but you will need to visit The Cosmetics Program for a comprehensive consultation before we can give you the go ahead. Good nose surgery candidates will have a desire to change the appearance of their nose and a health history that does not reflect any unusual or excessive risks during surgery. We also perform nose surgery on patients whose bone or cartilage structure is interfering with nasal breathing or sense of smell.

What are the risks involved with the rhinoplasty nose surgery procedure?

There are certain surgical risks with nose surgery that you’ll need to be aware of before the procedure. During your confidential consultation, your cosmetic surgeon will go over this information thoroughly, in addition to evaluating your health history to make sure there are no additional risks. Keep in mind that severe side effects are rare, and you can help minimize your risks by following your doctor's pre-op and post-op instructions.

Risks of nose surgery may include:

  • Abnormal shape
  • Airway obstruction
  • Infection
  • Anesthesia reaction
  • Discoloration
  • Extrusion
  • Swelling
  • Heavy scarring
  • Asymmetry
  • Bleeding
  • Skin irregularities
  • Numbness
  • Nerve damage

Certain patients may require a secondary revision to achieve their perfect nasal shape.
